WHAT WE DO
Music Aid provides free support, promotion, publicity and co
branding for many music related projects, including educational
projects, charities and benefit CDs and concerts. It makes its
expertise and contacts available completely free of charge to
genuine and bone fide music related charities, fund raisers and organizations and offers
promotional services and co branding of events, cds and projects with the Music Aid logo
and image. No money is received by Music Aid for this work and
support. Music Aid also supports and provides aid to people
wishing to enter the music industry through initiatives such as
The International Music Awards - the world's biggest music
awards event. Music Aid is administered by, and the website
is maintained by, a team of Online Volunteers from all over the world who donate
their time and talent because they believe in the Music Aid
vision.
HOW
MUSIC AID
STARTED
Music
Aid was launched in London, England, in 1998 at the "Art of
Music" Festival. This seven day event took over the entire
third floor of the huge Whitley's complex in Central London with
art exhibits, live music and dance and it was attended by over
100,000 people. The festival was supported by many well known names from the worlds of music, art
and film including Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, TV personality and artist Rolf Harris and Sliding Doors film
director and actor Peter Howitt. This event holds
the record for the largest exhibition of music related art ever
staged and included works by Andy Warhol, John Lennon, Peter Max
and others as well as artifacts and signed guitars and album
covers from many famous names including Paul McCartney, John Lee
Hooker, Oasis and Bono. Funds raised at this event went to fund schooling for
poor village children in SE Asia. In 2000 Music Aid went global
by becoming the United Nations UNV music partner.
